Holding Grief & Gratitude This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving can be a tender mix of emotions.
Some years feel full… and some feel heavy.

And many of us carry grief and gratitude at the same time — both held in the same heart, often in the same breath. 💛

If you’re walking through a season where joy and sorrow overlap, I want you to know: you’re not alone, and God is near.

Gratefulness Is a Magnet for Miracles

A dear friend recently shared a phrase with me and I continue to carry it close:

“Gratefulness is a magnet for miracles.”

Not because gratitude magically changes our circumstances,
but because it shifts our vision to see God moving…

Even in the small, quiet ways.
Even in the broken pieces.

Scripture reminds us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4).
Not because life is always easy,
but because praise positions our hearts to encounter the One who never changes.

One of my mom’s favorite verses — one she quotes again and again — is:

“In everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Not for everything…
but in everything.

Even in the pain.
Even in the waiting.
Even in the places we don’t understand.

Her faith still speaks, and I pray it encourages you today the way it continues to encourage me.

A Thanksgiving Blessing

This Thanksgiving, may your heart find room for both gratitude and grace.

For tears and thankfulness.
For memories and miracles.

No matter what this season looks like for you,
Hope still lives here — and Hope is greater than the heartache.
